The residents of eastern Leon County off US27S were promised that the Landfill would be moved.   It is time to fulfill this promise.   After much controversy Class 1 garbage is no longer being dumped at this site and I will insist that this policy is not changed.   While ball fields are already being planned, we must fast track creating a passive park at other parts of this site.   

I will be a proponent that Leon County begin to move forward in its search for other sites to handle the dumping of construction debris.  

I will also insist that Leon County take all available measures to mitigate any negative effects that this landfill has on surrounding residents until the site is moved.
